Position: Accountant


Location: Honolulu

Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 - depending on experience

Local company seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join their growing team. This position is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and assisting with month-end and year-end close activities. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, customer-focused, and able to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments


Key Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Prepare, review, and process customer invoices
• Reconcile customer payments and account balances
• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
• Prepare monthly financial and revenue reports
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and account analyses
• Support external audits and tax preparation activities
• Maintain accounting records, contracts, and supporting documentation
• Respond to customer and vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies
• Assist with special projects and other accounting duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar ERP systems preferred.
• Experience with month-end close and general ledger accounting
• Experience supporting audits and compliance activities
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and formulas
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Customer service mindset with the ability to build positive relationships internally and externally
