Position: Accountant
Location: Honolulu Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 - depending on experience Local company seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join their growing team. This position is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and assisting with month-end and year-end close activities. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, customer-focused, and able to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments

Position: Accountant

This position is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and assisting with month-end and year-end close activities. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, customer-focused, and able to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Prepare, review, and process customer invoices
- Reconcile customer payments and account balances
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
- Prepare monthly financial and revenue reports
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and account analyses
- Support external audits and tax preparation activities
- Maintain accounting records, contracts, and supporting documentation
- Respond to customer and vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies
- Assist with special projects and other accounting duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Experience with month-end close and general ledger accounting
- Experience supporting audits and compliance activities
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and formulas
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Customer service mindset with the ability to build positive relationships internally and externally
