Seasonal Gymnastics Coordinator

The Seasonal Gymnastics Coordinator represents the City of West St. Paul and is responsible for planning, organizing and actively leading gymnastics programs serving youth 1.5 6 years old. The programs are designed to teach beginning level gymnastics skills in a fun, safe environment. Classes are typically offered on Saturday afternoons.

Primary Duties

• Maintain a safe, engaging and welcoming environment for youth and families.
• Plan and teach a progression-based curriculum for classes.
• Provide instruction to Gymnastics staff.
• Provide excellent customer service to families; enforce facility rules and regulations.
• Maintain on-going communication with Recreation Supervisor and other gymnastics instructors regarding program effectiveness and issues.
• Set up, break down, and store equipment as needed.
• Use basic first aid procedures to assist any injured facility users.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have previous gymnastics coaching experience.
• Must have 1 -2 years of experience working with youth.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certified.
• Experience in leadership and customer service.

• Knowledge of gymnastics, skills and techniques.
• Skilled in leading, engaging and inspiring youth.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with recreation supervisor, other gymnastics instructors, program participants and the general public.
• Ability to sit, stand and walk. Handles or operates objects or equipment. Reaches with hands or arms. Perform light physical labor including climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling light objects.
