About the Role: Housing Advocacy Vocational and Employment (HAVE) is looking for compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to join our team in LaPlata, MD! With multiple shifts available, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities while building a rewarding career in human services. Responsibilities: Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential settings Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately Facilitate community integration activities and promote client independence Administer medications and monitor health needs in accordance with care plans Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and interdisciplinary team members Respond to behavioral support needs using approved techniques and protocols Requirements: High school diploma or GED required Prior experience in direct support, caregiving, or human services preferred Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to pass a background check and drug screening Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills Willingness to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, or overnights CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) About Us: Housing Advocacy Vocational and Employment (HAVE) is a dedicated human services organization based in LaPlata, MD, committed to empowering individuals with disabilities to live fulfilling, independent lives.
