Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together Work location: Texas Health Rockwall - 3150 Horizon Rd, Rockwall, TX 75032 Work hours: Part Time, 24 hours weekly, day schedule varies based on needs as (2) 12-hour shifts or (3) 8-hour shifts, self-scheduling, holidays and weekend requirements Training: Must be able to attend training at the corporate office in Arlington 8am-5pm during the first 1-5 days of hire Lactation Services Department Highlights: Supportive team environment and family atmosphere. Here's What You Need: Associate's degree in Nursing required or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred 1 year experience as a registered nurse, completion of an RN residency program, or THR residency program required 1 year of Lactation experience strongly preferred; Mother/Baby experience helpful Texas RN - Registered Nurse required upon hire and BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care required upon hire and maintained quarterly NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program required within 90 days of hire and IBCLC - Lactation Consultant required within 2 years of hire; strongly preferred upon hire A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Do: Functions as an expert resource on breastfeeding issues for patients, families, community, staff, and physicians. Serves as a clinical expert for lactation issues based on evidence. Produces documentation that initiates, follows and revises patients plan of care. Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to improve care processes that promote continuity of care. Reviews patient medications for potential complications associated with breastfeeding. Assesses outpatients for symptoms of jaundice and breastfeeding problems. Participates in breast pump rental and retail sales within the Breastfeeding Resource Center.
