Director of Residence Life

Director of Residence Life – oversees the overall direction of residence life, aligning the residential experience with institutional priorities and ensuring that residence life programs, services, and facilities contribute meaningfully to student development and retention. Responsibilities include professional staff leadership, residential education oversight, housing operations and long‑range planning for campus housing. The director collaborates across the university and with external partners to advance a high‑quality, student‑centered residential environment. Qualifications Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, community development, business administration, or a closely related field. Minimum of 5–7 years of progressively responsible management experience and demonstrated leadership. Supervisory experience including hiring, training and evaluating professional and/or paraprofessional staff. Crisis response and on‑call management experience. Experience with student conduct processes. Demonstrated experience with staff supervision, development, and mentoring. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Maxient and Star Rez (or similar software). Demonstrated leadership in crisis management, preferably in a higher‑education setting. Experience working at a public college/university. Working Location This is an onsite position in Salem, MA with on‑campus, in‑person responsibilities, possibly requiring occasional work on evenings and weekends.
