Electrician Rogers School District School Services – Rogers, Arkansas Job Details Job ID: 5652500 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: Apr 17, 2026 5:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: Immediately Job Description Position Title: Electrician (Maintenance Technician III / IV) Department: School Services Reports To: Director of Facilities / Assistant Director of Facilities Evaluated By: Director of Facilities / Assistant Director of Facilities FLSA Status: Non‑exempt License Levels: Journeyman Electrician (Maintenance Technician III) | Master Electrician (Maintenance Technician IV) Summary: Under general supervision, maintain, repair, and install electrical systems, services, and equipment for the district. Provide safe condition and operation of all electrical fixtures and systems in district facilities. This position is available at two levels —Journeyman Electrician (Maintenance Technician III) and Master Electrician (Maintenance Technician IV) — based on licensure and experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, power equipment, and components of machinery and equipment following electrical code, manuals, specifications, schematics, and blueprints. Install and repair control and distribution apparatus, including motors, relays, switches, thermostats, circuit‑breaker panels, etc. Install and connect power supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical apparatus for machines and equipment in new and existing facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints. Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment using testing instruments and equipment. Test continuity of circuits to ensure compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments. Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, pipe threader, and conduit bender. Repair or recommend replacement of electrical appliances, including commercial ovens, ranges, steam tables, washers, dryers, etc. Receive and complete work orders. Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates. Maintain accurate records on material and labor used. Maintain inventory of district‑owned tools, equipment, and materials. Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean. Work with building principals and supervisors to complete projects. Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment following established inspection procedures. Respond to emergency calls as needed. SAFETY Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment. Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures. Ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must possess a valid Arkansas driver’s license. Journeyman Electrician (Maintenance Technician III): Minimum five years of experience in the electrical field with knowledge of local, state, and national electrical codes, electrical circuits and wiring, and operating principles of motors. Valid Arkansas Journeyman Electrician’s License required. Master Electrician (Maintenance Technician IV): Minimum ten years of experience in the electrical field with comprehensive knowledge of local, state, and national electrical codes, NFPA standards, all aspects of electrical circuits and wiring, and operating principles of motors. Valid Arkansas Master Electrician’s License required. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, electrical codes, blueprints, schematics, and written reference material. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form. Ability to diagnose and resolve problems involving several variables and in standardized situations. Other Skills and Abilities: Comfortable working at heights in excess of 10 feet. Proficiency with multimeter, ohmmeter, oscilloscope, testing equipment; soldering iron; wire puller; pipe bender and threader; hand and power tools; trencher; jackhammer; concrete saw; ladder. Physical Demands: Ability to sit, walk, stand, listen, and hear for extended periods. Frequent climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching required. Ability to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 90 pounds. Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, around electrical power lines, inside and outside; exposure to extreme temperatures; frequent district‑wide travel.
