Technical Sales Representative


Location: Winona, MN (On-Site)

Compensation: $65,000-$75,000 annually DOE

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday

Position Overview


We are seeking a motivated Technical Sales Representative to combine technical expertise with customer-focused sales and project support. This position serves as a trusted advisor to customers by identifying challenges, recommending solutions, preparing quotations, and guiding projects from initial inquiry through successful completion.


The ideal candidate has a background in manufacturing, industrial products, engineering support, or technical sales and enjoys building relationships while solving complex customer problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, website submissions, and other communication channels.
• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through exceptional service and technical support.
• Review customer applications, specifications, drawings, and project requirements.
• Recommend products and solutions that best meet customer needs.
• Prepare detailed quotations, pricing proposals, and delivery estimates.
• Enter and manage customer orders throughout the production process.
• Partner with engineering, production, and customer service teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Track open quotations and proactively follow up on opportunities.
• Support projects from proposal through delivery and implementation.
• Provide after-sale support and technical assistance.
• Maintain accurate customer account information and records.
• Identify opportunities to expand existing relationships and generate new business.
• Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues and preparing repair or replacement quotes.
• Travel occasionally to customer locations, project sites, and industry events.

Qualifications

Required

• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and drawings.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and inventory systems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
• Experience in technical sales, inside sales, estimating, project coordination, or applications engineering.
• Experience with industrial equipment, mechanical products, or manufacturing operations.
• Knowledge of electric motors, controls, automation, or power systems.
• Experience supporting customers in industrial or manufacturing environments.
