Manufacturing Fields Specialist At a Glance Position: Manufacturing Fields Specialist Primary Location: Seadrift (TX, USA) Additional Locations: Chennai (IND), Calgary (AB, CAN), Mumbai (IND), Houston (TX, USA), South Charleston (WV, USA) Dow is looking for a Manufacturing Field Specialist to develop manufacturing operating procedures/training and facilitate plant start‑ups and commissioning. This role may involve 4‑6 months international relocation. Responsibilities Update typical manufacturing operating procedures as needed within Univation Technologies. Prepare the manufacturing portion of the process orientation training for new build or retrofit clients. Prepare process training for existing clients as required by the Regional Customer Team Manufacturing Leader. Travel to support new build and retrofit client needs, including design and construction reviews, on‑site start‑up and post start‑up support worldwide. Stay current with Unipol technology and its developments. Participate in technology & business review meetings with current licensees. Support Manufacturing Leader in providing manufacturing expertise to licensees in response to operating inquiries. Train clients and contractors in Unipol technology. Support special runs for product/catalyst development and data gathering, traveling as needed. Review Process Design Packages (PDP) content as needed. Participate in client P&ID, layout, and 3D model reviews as requested. Partake in start‑up teams at licensee sites for 6‑9 months, including punch list and commissioning activities. Qualifications Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. 5 or more years of relevant experience. Expertise in at least one major area of the Unipol process (feed purification, reaction and purging, vent recovery and utilities, additive addition, or pelleting). Some travel expected (50% of time). Ability to work legally in the country of application. No visa sponsorship available. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Gas Phase Polyethylene Technology. Experience preparing and closing a punch list. Experience in commissioning activities and logic checks. Understanding of the Univation Process Design Package layout and content. Able to Meet the Following Physical Demands Wear safety equipment (earplugs, goggles, steel‑toed shoes). Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Work in tight or closed‑in spaces. Climb stairs/ladders and work at elevated heights. Stand or walk for extended periods. Your Skills Read and understand piping and instrumentation diagrams. Identify safety issues and provide solutions. Apply current knowledge to assist in a safe and successful start‑up. Work effectively with others, including across language barriers.
