Make a meaningful difference by supporting a high school student on their educational journey as a paraprofessional for the upcoming school year. In this role, you’ll work one-on-one with an 11th grader who is eager to expand their Braille skills, currently at a first-grade Braille proficiency level. Your encouragement and guidance will play a pivotal role in this student’s development, helping them build confidence and independence in a supportive academic setting.
What you’ll bring:
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional, especially in school settings
- Familiarity with Braille, or strong willingness to learn and assist a student learning Braille
- A genuine passion for supporting students with unique learning needs
- Patience, compassion, and strong communication abilities
- Ability to build rapport with students and collaborate with instructional staff
- Reliability and commitment through the full school year
What you’ll do:
- Work closely with an 11th grade student throughout the school day on a 1:1 basis
- Assist the student in developing foundational Braille reading and writing skills
- Foster a positive, encouraging learning environment tailored to the student’s needs
- Communicate progress and areas of growth with teachers and other support personnel
- Adapt to meet the evolving educational requirements of your student
This contract opportunity offers 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with shifts of 5 hours each day—perfect for those seeking a consistent part-time schedule that still allows flexibility.
