SECONDARY SOCIAL STUDIES LICENSURE

• Candidates must hold and be HQ in the secondary (grades 9-12) social studies license area (400).
• Non-licensed, residency licensure candidates are eligible based upon holding a Bachelor's degree with a minimum 2.7 GPA, and 24 semester hours of related courses in social studies; OR passing PRAXIS II scores on Praxis II test 5081 Social Studies: Content Knowledge and Praxis II test 5624 Principles of Teaching and Learning: Grades 7-12.
• Examples of related courses include: History, Political Science, Geography, Sociology, Law
• Eligibility for the residency license must be established prior to a contract offer.
• Candidates with the middle grades social studies license area will be given consideration.
