The Shift Supervisor at Tacombi plays a key leadership role in delivering exceptional hospitality, supporting smooth daily operations, and guiding the FOH team to uphold Tacombi's standards of Mexican Hospitality. You help ensure service excellence, team alignment, and operational readiness during each shift.

Responsibilities include:
Leadership & Team Support

Empower teams to deliver great service every day.

• Motivate and inspire the FOH team to consistently deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Lead by example by maintaining an active presence on the floor during service.
• Provide real-time coaching and support, helping team members perform at their best.
• Support management in executing training programs and ensuring they are followed thoroughly and consistently.
• Observe and communicate violations of policies, procedures, or performance expectations to management to ensure consistent corrective actions.

Operational Excellence

Ensure every guest receives the true Tacombi Experience.

• Uphold Tacombi’s service culture and ensure all Steps of Service are followed.
• Greet every guest warmly, anticipate their needs, and provide a fond farewell.
• Maintain clean, organized, and fully prepared workstations before and during service.
• Support staff in preparing the dining room according to Tacombi’s side work checklist.
• Monitor FOH operations throughout the shift to ensure smooth service flow, cleanliness, and readiness.
• Ensure adherence to food safety, alcohol service laws, Department of Health regulations, and Tacombi hospitality standards.

Brand & Guest Experience

Represent Tacombi with hospitality and pride.

• Serve as an ambassador of the Tacombi brand, creating a positive impact on guests, team members, and the community.
• Share deep knowledge of the Tacombi mission, brand values, cultural hospitality standards, and menu offerings.
• Resolve guest concerns with urgency, empathy, and sound judgment.
• Maintain professionalism in appearance, communication, and conduct at all times.

You should have:

• Flexible availability, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Natural leadership abilities with a positive, supportive approach.
• Ability to teach others, take direction, and embrace continuous learning.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. (English/Spanish bilingual capabilities is a plus)
• Proficiency with Toast or other POS systems, plus Microsoft Word and Excel.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and guest service.

Physical expectations of the position include:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead as needed.
• Comfortable working in environments with heat, humidity, cold storage, and exposure to common allergens, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity to supervise food quality, safety, and handle kitchen tools, with or without reasonable accommodation.

This is a tipped position and the statutory tip credit will be applied accordingly for tipped work.
