Sr. Merchandising Planner

Title of role: Sr. Merchandising PlannerLocation: New York or Boston; Hybrid (2 days in the office required) Approved Salary Range: $95,000 -$110,000About the Role: As a Senior Planner, you will lead a talented team of planners, collaborate with cross-functional departments, and leverage advanced analytics to support high-level strategic direction. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring our inventory management is both effective and efficient, contributing to the overall success of our organization. Key Responsibilities:Develop and support the execution of the merchandise strategy to optimize inventory levels and profitability in partnership with the merchandising team, ensuring alignment with the company's business goalsProvide strategic direction to inform a financial plan for a residual and flash business and lead in-season OTB discussion in partnership with the financial planner.Establish strategic initiatives to build assortment strategies that drive sales, profitability and inventory efficiency across all categories of business.Evaluate the financial performance of merchandise categories against established KPI’s to support merchandise strategies.Conduct advanced data analysis to identify trends and new business opportunity recommendations to the Merchandise Flash and Residual Team, contributing to effective decision-making and the overall success of the merchandise planning strategies.Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the planning team and cross-functionally.Develop a planning team with strong ability to identify and articulate short- and long-term strategies supported by sound financial plans.Build and foster effective relationships and collaborate closely with Merchandising and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of Merchandising strategies to support overall business objectives.Influence decisions within the Planning team and cross-functionally. In this role, you will spearhead the development and execution of innovative merchandising and planning strategies that drive top-line sales and enhance bottom-line profitability. Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing inventory levels and crafting strategies to efficiently manage inventory across all business categories.Experience and Background Needed:Bachelor’s degree in business or another quantitative field preferred 5+ years of experience in merchandise planning, with at least 2 years’ experience in leadership rolesProven leadership and team management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionally.In-depth knowledge of retail industry trends, consumer behavior, and market dynamics.Demonstrated planning and analytical skills; proficiency in Excel, Business IntelligenceE-commerce, Off Price and Multi brand retail experience preferred.
