Senior Investment Accountant

DescriptionKforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Investment Accountant in Short Hills, NJ.Summary:Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their Investment Accounting team. This position will be responsible for analyzing and reconciling investment-related accounts, supporting the monthly close, preparing journal entries and financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with applicable GAAP and statutory accounting requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong financial accounting background, excellent analytical skills, and experience working with complex investment or financial statement accounts.Key Responsibilities:* Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations and analyses* Analyze complex accounting records and financial statements* Prepare journal entries and accounting adjustments* Support GAAP and statutory investment disclosures and reporting* Perform analytical reviews as part of the monthly closing process* Prepare and support monthly financial close and financial statements* Apply appropriate accounting treatment for various investment classes, including fixed income, equities, mortgage loans, cash equivalents, and alternative investments* Research and respond to questions regarding financial results* Support annual external audits and budgeting activities* Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements and compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements* Identify and troubleshoot accounting issues and discrepanciesRequirements* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field* 5+ years of financial accounting experience* Experience with investment accounting or financial services is preferred* Experience with investment accounting systems or custodian platforms is a plus* Strong knowledge of GAAP; Experience with statutory accounting principles is highly desirable* Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills* Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills* CPA designation is preferredJob TypeDirect HireCompensation110000 - $120000
