Adjunct Faculty, Graduate Programs

Position Overview The College of Business and Graduate School of Management at Lewis University seeks to establish a pool of potential graduate adjunct instructors on an ongoing basis to serve as dynamic and student-centered educators across these graduate programs: Business Administration (MBA), Business Analytics (MSBA), Finance (MSF), Project Management (MSPM), and Organizational Leadership (MAOL). Focused on experiential learning and active engagement, adjuncts chosen at Lewis will create a charismatic and professional learning environment for students of diverse learning backgrounds. Responsibilities Teach courses at the Romeoville (Main), Oak Brook, and/or Albuquerque campuses or online. Be available to teach during weekdays, evenings, or online as required. Prepare course materials, develop syllabi, and update Blackboard course shells (LMS platform). Participate in required university and college activities, trainings, and certifications. Provide support and guidance to students. Cooperate with department chairs or other program faculty to assure quality and consistency across the program. Report to the department chair and/or dean and perform instructional duties in a timely manner. Minimum Qualifications Graduate faculty must hold a doctoral degree in the same discipline or subfield (e.g., Economics PhD; MBA courses require a PhD or DBA; Organizational Leadership courses require a Doctorate in Leadership). If the doctoral degree is not in the same discipline or subfield, the applicant must have at least 18 additional graduate credits in a discipline or subfield one level above the course being taught. Possesses excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills. All hired adjunct faculty must successfully complete the Lewis University Online Teaching Certification Program. Demonstrates flexibility in class scheduling. Preferred Qualifications Minimum of fifteen years in mid-to-senior management positions with mastery of the subject area. Evidence of prior quality teaching and/or training experience. Experience with Blackboard and hybrid delivery (desirable). Physical Demands Repetitive movement of hands and fingers – typing and/or writing. Frequent standing and/or sitting; occasional walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching. Reach with hands and arms; visual identification, observation, and assessment. Requires regular physical attendance. Work Hours Part-time; adjuncts may instruct one to two courses each semester on an “as needed” basis and provide a quality learning experience on a semester basis.
