The ideal candidate for this position would be self-motivated and have a strong background in facility maintenance, remodel and repairs.

Work days are 8 hours shifts with a ½ hour paid lunch and two 15 minute breaks. We also provide competitive wages, health, dental and vision benefits, vacation and sick leave, 3% matching 401K plan, and other miscellaneous bonuses.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: Maintenance Worker III class is in the advanced journey level in the casino/hotel Maintenance and operational services such as HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Small appliance repair. This class is distinguished from the maintenance worker II by having greater responsibility, autonomy, and discretion in planning and completing a wide variety of maintenance and operational activities. Although the incumbent in this position has day-to-day responsibilities for assigned projects, this position differs from the maintenance supervision by the lack of overall responsibility for program and project completion.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: Plans, supervises and performs the work involved in the operation of maintenance and repair of the heating, plumbing, electrical, ventilation, air conditioning and other similar systems used in the casino/hotel building. Makes general inspection and does follow up on the progress of work performed, inspects equipment and facilities to determine condition and need for repairs, estimate future equipment and materials needs. Keeps records of equipment and operating dates, prepares reports.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school or GED. Preferably two years of vocational education in related technical study in construction methods or mechanical or electric repair methods. Three years of experience in the maintenance and operation of large buildings, or in the maintenance, operation or repair of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, refrigeration or other similar mechanical or power systems, including or supplemented by one year of administrative or supervisory experience.

KNOWLEDGE OF: Methods and equipment used in maintenance work, equipment practices and materials used in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and other building trade work. Operation and maintenance of low and high-pressure heating systems, and of refrigeration, ventilating and air conditioning systems; safe working practices and building safety regulations; principles of personnel management and supervision.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents, blueprints and schematics, documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies and staff. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Effective interpersonal skills required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and deals with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to maintain visual attention and mental concentration needed to perform assigned duties in highly disruptive conditions. Must be detail orientated and possess organizational skills.

LICENSE: Must have a valid drivers license in good standing.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an Employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the Employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is also regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and use hand to finger coordination, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The Employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The Employee is regularly required to lift up to fifty pounds and occasionally required to lift up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an Employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The Employee is regularly exposed to radiation (from computers), as a great deal of the workday is spent working on spreadsheets or inputting data into the computer system. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The Employee is required to work in a smoke-filled environment.
