Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 2 years of cardiac PCU experience and EPIC proficiency.

Job Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of an acute care hospital with a cardiac focus,
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30,
• Patient ratio of 1:5,
• Every other weekend (EOW) required,
• Floating required to similar units as needed,
• No on-call responsibilities,
• Block scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed,
• Patient population includes chest pain, syncope, heart failure, sepsis, overdose, GI bleed, COPD, and pneumonia,
• Overflow coverage may include medical, surgical, trauma, oncology, and orthopedic patients,
• Special procedures include post-cath with stent care, ICD/pacer insertions, and cardioversions,
• Uses EPIC charting system,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (NH state or compact) currently in hand,
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS),
• EKG test required upon arrival,
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with a strong PCU background within the last year,
• EPIC charting experience required,
• First-time travelers accepted only with EPIC experience and 2 years of experience,
• Pending license candidates accepted,
• Preferred skills include CPI, sheath removal, and care of ventilated patients,

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac telemetry monitoring and care for a diverse patient population including cardiac, medical, and surgical cases,
• Perform cardiac drip and vasoactive drip titration,
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and utilize rapid response/code teams as needed,
• Trauma center setting,
• Any scrub color accepted,
• No parking costs,
• Travelers who have ever been employed by the health system are not eligible for consideration regardless of separation length,
• If contracted during all three major winter holidays, at least two of the three must be worked, with holiday RTO subject to unit availability,
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a local rate
