Business Analyst

Business AnalystCogent People Inc. is seeking a Business Analyst to support requirements elicitation, documentation, and validation for project workflows and related system processes. This role is responsible for gathering and refining business requirements, supporting Agile delivery teams, and ensuring alignment between CMS processes, system functionality, and user needs. The position supports analysis of workflows, data structures, and user interactions to ensure accurate and effective system implementation. The ideal candidate will bring experience in business analysis, Agile environments, and healthcare or MES-related systems, along with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional stakeholders and technical teams. This position may be contingent upon contract award.Requirements Elicitation & DocumentationSupport detailed requirements elicitation for MESH workflows, data structures, and user interactionsDocument and maintain clear, actionable business and functional requirementsValidate requirements with stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completenessAgile Delivery & Stakeholder CollaborationWork with stakeholders and Agile teams to refine user stories and acceptance criteriaEnsure alignment between system functionality and CMS processesSupport testing activities and user acceptance testing (UAT)Continuous Improvement & AnalysisIdentify gaps in workflow execution, data quality, and user experienceContribute to continuous improvement initiatives across processes and systemsSupport analysis of business processes to improve efficiency and accuracyWhat We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience in business analysis, requirements gathering, and documentationExperience working in Agile delivery environmentsFamiliarity with healthcare systems, MES/MESH workflows, or CMS-related processesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience supporting user acceptance testing (UAT) and test validation activitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholdersStrong attention to detail and commitment to data and process accuracyWhat Will Set You ApartExperience working with Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES) or CMS-aligned programsFamiliarity with workflow analysis and process improvement methodologiesExperience supporting large-scale or government healthcare systemsKnowledge of data structures and system integration conceptsExperience contributing to Agile backlog refinement and sprint planningAbility to identify and articulate user experience and process improvement opportunitiesWhy Cogent People Inc.?
