Shift Details

This position offers a night shift schedule consisting of three 12-hour shifts, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Applicants are encouraged to commit for a minimum of 18 weeks, with a potential option for 13-week placements as well.

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified candidate to provide essential nursing services within a medical surgical/telemetry unit. The successful applicant will be required to meet all job qualifications and possess the necessary skills to deliver high-quality patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must hold a current and active Ohio state nursing license or a compact state license.
• At least 18 months of recent experience in medical-surgical/telemetry nursing.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are mandatory; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification is preferred.
• A reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director within the specialty is required for submission.

Additional Requirements

• References must be recent, from assignments worked within the last 12 months.
• All required certifications should be active and in hand at the time of application, pending certifications will not be accepted.
• Candidates must successfully complete ECG rhythm recognition tests and safeMedicate assessments during orientation.
• A negative nicotine drug screen is required for non-nursing positions.
• Completion of a BCI/FBI background check is time-sensitive and must be done within 48 hours of contract signing.

Contract and Extension Information

Candidates may extend their contract with the client for up to 18 months, after which a mandatory break of 6 months will be enforced. The break period may be waived on a case-by-case basis at the client's discretion.

Competency Requirements

Nurses who remain on a continuous contract for a minimum of 1 year, or those returning on a contract in the subsequent calendar year, are required to complete annual competency education sessions. Failure to complete this requirement may result in removal from the schedule until compliance is achieved.

Training Modules

The training modules required for this position typically range from 6 to 15 hours and can be completed annually. Up to 4 hours of these modules will be billable, although any additional time required for pre-start modules will not be compensated.
