Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Nursing Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 18 months of Med/Tele experience required License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Cardiac rhythm interpretation - Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone) - General medical/surgical skillset - EPIC experience required Description: Seeking an experienced RN for a MedSurg/Tele position. The unit has 32 beds with an average census of 32. Patient types include stroke, seizure, acute mental status changes, generalized weakness, acute kidney injury/chronic kidney disease, falls, cellulitis, and non-healing wounds. Patient ratios are 1:5-6 in both day and night shifts. Surge staffing may increase the ratios up to 1:7-8. CNA ratios are also 1:5-6 during the day and night shifts, with the possibility of surge staffing increasing them to 1:7-8. CNA experience in acute care MedSurg is required. Support staff includes a charge nurse, CNA, IV/VAT team, dedicated pharmacists, case managers, nurse educators, and hospitalist support available 24/7. No remote tele-monitoring is available; staff are responsible for monitoring and posting each shift. Floating is required within the region and scope of practice. The department is family-oriented.
