Accounts Payable

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for accurately processing vendor invoices, maintaining financial records, and ensuring timely payments. This role works closely with the Controller, Purchasing, and other internal departments to resolve discrepancies, maintain organized records, and support efficient accounting operations. Attention to detail, accuracy, and effective communication are essential to maintaining strong vendor relationships and supporting the company's financial integrity.

Responsibilities:

• Promote a safe work environment, report safety incidents, maintain good housekeeping, and follow OSHA and Onex safety policies.

• Review, verify, and process vendor invoices, ensuring accurate job costing, general ledger coding, and timely entry into the accounting system.

• Prepare payment and check runs for approval, monitor outstanding invoices, and ensure payments are processed according to established schedules.

• Reconcile credit card transactions and resolve purchase order discrepancies with vendors and the Purchasing Department.

• Maintain accurate electronic vendor records, including invoices, W-9 forms, certificates of insurance, and supporting documentation.

• Close completed purchase orders, assist with month-end closing activities, and maintain organized financial records.

• Communicate professionally with vendors, the Controller, and internal departments to resolve inquiries and support efficient operations.

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reduce errors, and strengthen financial accuracy.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.

• 1–3 years of accounts payable or related accounting experience preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Viewpoint Accounting Software preferred.

• Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.

• Excellent numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrates integrity, confidentiality, accountability, teamwork, and a positive, improvement-focused attitude.

Physical Requirements:

• Sitting for extended periods while working with computers.

• Use of hands and fingers to operate office equipment.

• Handling office materials and equipment up to 25 pounds.

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and may be subject to random drug testing.

• Wear appropriate PPE when entering designated production or field environments.

Work Environment:

• Work is primarily performed indoors in an office environment.

• Periodic travel may be required.
