Shift Lead

Location: Lexington, Kentucky Overview Pet Supermarket is seeking energetic Shift Leads to provide friendly customer service, support the Sales Associate team, and manage store operations when necessary. The role involves driving sales, leading the team, and ensuring a safe, clean, and engaging retail environment for both customers and animals. Key Responsibilities Lead Sales Associate team to achieve sales, KPIs, and store performance goals. Prioritize, assign, and delegate daily tasks to associate team members as Manager on Duty. Collaborate with the Store Manager to plan and execute community events and build relationships with rescue agencies. Maintain a safe and clean store environment, including animal care, enclosures, fish system, and merchandise restocking. Support store opening and closing procedures and ensure accurate inventory counts. Communicate concerns and performance gaps to Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager promptly. Assist with new hire training and merchandising guidelines. Complete additional tasks as assigned by store management. Qualifications Minimum 1 year of retail or customer service experience. Experience working with and around animals. Flexible work schedule that includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle preferred. Physical Demands Heavy lifting up to 55 lbs may be required repeatedly during a shift. Tasks involve standing, moving around, and occasional work alone.
