Teacher Aide

Job Overview Teacher's Aide / Substitute Teacher assists the Head Teacher, Teacher, and Assistant Teacher in caring for and instructing children and in planning and supervising classroom activities. Responsibilities Design and integrate stimulation and relaxation in the classroom schedule daily. Assist with diaper changes, toileting routines, rest times and guidance in eating for children. Assist in preparation, distribution, and cleanup of meals and snacks, complying with state regulations. Conduct outdoor activities or gross motor activities indoors during inclement weather. Assist in making classroom materials and replenishing supplies. Interact appropriately with children during free play and social development. Recognize individual differences and treat each child fairly. Supervise aides and volunteers when the Head Teacher or Manager is absent. Help prepare and write bi-annual evaluations of children for parent meetings. Maintain ongoing activity records on each child for future evaluations. Maintain confidentiality of all materials handled within the network/entity. Comply with network policies on employee, patient, and environmental safety. Demonstrate and model the network’s values during interactions with all customers. Demonstrate performance improvement in areas such as clinical care/outcomes, customer/service improvement, operational system/process, safety. Demonstrate financial responsibility and accountability through efficient use of resources. Demonstrate competency in assessment, treatment, knowledge of growth and development, and communication appropriate to the age of the child. Qualifications & Experience High School Diploma or GED required. 1-3 years of experience related to the care and development of children preferred.
