Attorney Level I/II/III/IV - Civil

Position Under direction, performs legal work in the County Counsel's Office by advising County departments, special districts, and other outside agencies; represents the County on litigation and business matters; and does other related duties. Exam Information Continuous filing exam with bi‑annual cut‑offs on the third Thursday of June and December. Next cut‑offs at 5:00 pm on June 18, 2026, and December 17, 2026. Salary Information Level I: $11,689.32 Monthly Level II: $13,448.50 Monthly Level III: $12,167.83 – $14,791.75 Monthly Level IV Range A: $13,547.67 – $17,290.42 Monthly Level IV Range B: $14,800.42 – $18,889.44 Monthly Additional 3.35% Management Differential added to posted salary for this class Responsibilities Perform civil legal work under direction, including: Handling less difficult civil assignments under close supervision (Level I) Managing civil cases of average difficulty under general supervision (Level II) Taking on difficult and complex civil law assignments under minimum direction (Levels III & IV) Qualifications Membership in the California State Bar (required) Must provide California State Bar license number and date of issue on application Must have a California State Bar number before applying (no applications accepted without it) Probationary Period 12 months.
