With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.Role description:Arcadis’ Industrial Water Treatment and Optimization (IWTO) team is seeking an experienced Industrial Water Wastewater Process Engineer with 7+ years of consulting engineering experience to contribute to our expanding portfolio of industrial water and wastewater related design projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:Function as the process engineer on industrial water/wastewater projectsApply processes and technologies for physical/chemical primary treatment, biological treatment, membrane treatment, adsorption, filtration, disinfection, thermal evaporation and crystallizationReceive technical mentoring and guidance from a senior process engineerDelegate engineering or scientific calculations/ drawings to junior staffCollaborate with multi-disciplinary design teams to implement complex treatment solutions, and Support implementation of projects from study phase through design, construction, startup and commissioning, and operation and maintenance of treatment systems This is a hybrid position supporting client facilities and projects throughout the United States, with occasional international travel opportunities. Candidates residing in one of the following locations are preferred but not required: Raleigh, NC; Atlanta, GA; Tampa, FL; Indianapolis, IN; Novi, MI; Philadelphia, PA; Denver, CO; Dallas, TX; and Houston, TX. This role is an immediate hiring priority for the team. Role accountabilities:The Industrial Water Wastewater Process Engineer should have an understanding of industrial wastewater treatment systems with experience designing water and wastewater projects and preparing construction documents, including mechanical drawings, P&IDs, specifications, control narratives, technical reports, and O&M manuals. Proficient in performing engineering calculations using tools such as Excel and Mathcad, developing equipment and piping specifications, coordinating within multidisciplinary project teams, and providing guidance and mentorship to early-career engineers.Assist in developing and preparing process design drawings, specifications, calculations, plans, and other technical deliverables for a variety of industrial water projects,Field work will be required, including but not limited to, surveys/data gathering, construction quality assurance, inspections, bench- and pilot-scale treatability testing at client sites or in our lab, etc.Assist with system commissioning and start-up, including training plant staffPrepare and make presentations to clients and for professional meetingsManage projects as necessary to meet both client and Arcadis’ expectationsSupporting business development including proposal preparation and meetings with clientsTravel as needed for meetings, site visits, etc. (up to 25%)Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering7+ years of progressively increasing responsibility in the industrial water/wastewater fieldPreferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in engineering or a related field of study with focus on wastewater treatment process engineeringProfessional engineer registration in one or more statesWhy Arcadis?We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
