Material Handler/Truck Loader

Material Handler 2nd ShiftMetals USA is seeking a Material Handler/Truck Loader in Greensboro NC. Metals USA is a solid, growth oriented, carbon-steel (plate, beam, tube) distribution center servicing the defense, commercial, construction, aerospace and fabrication industries.Responsibilities:Executes customer work orders and prepares the product for shipment.Pulls, assembles customer orders, inspects the order, and loads the truck for delivery.Operates overhead cranes to load/unload trucks.Operates forklifts (5k or 10k) to load/unload trucks.Receives and returns items into stock inventory as needed.Transports material from storage and/or worksites to designated areas using either an overhead crane or forklift.Secures lifting attachments to materials and transports to the load destination using a crane or hoist, or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination.Certifications/Licenses:Valid OSHA Forklift CertificationValid Overhead Crane CertificationPhysical Demands:Occupation requires physical activity more than 66% of the time (> 5.5 hours per day)Stand, walk, sit, handling/fingering, reach outward, reach above shoulder, climb, squat or kneel or bendLift, carry, push and/or pull 51 -- 100 lbs. with assistanceOther Physical Requirements:Must wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE)Steel-toed bootsHard hat with chin strap; chin strap must be worn at all times while in the warehouseProtective eyewearHand protectionArm guards/sleevesHearing protection if required by the hearing conservation programWork Environment:May be exposed to some of the following working conditions.Environmental temperature changes hot & coldWorking inside and outside of the warehouseModerate to loud noise levelsVibrationOils, dust, fumes and metallic particlesDay and night shiftsHigh School Graduate or Equivalent.Basic mathematic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions.Basic reading and writing comprehension in English (to read instructions, work orders, safety and policies/manuals).Proficient measuring skills and the ability to read measuring tapes, micrometers and calipers.Valid OSHA Forklift/Overhead Crane Certification preferred; willing to trainValid and current driver's license in good standing requiredMetals USA offers a competitive hourly rate of $18.00 - $20.00 plus shift differential and benefits plus upward mobility professional growth.Metals USA is committed to protecting our employees by creating and maintaining a workplace free of substance abuse.Metals USA provides equal employment opportunities to applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability.
