Manufacturing Quality Inspector

Job Description

The Sr. Quality Inspector works to ensure that parts or accurate, complete within the specific customers guidelines and quality standards.  They perform 1st article inspections and purchase component inspections, along with maintaining calibrations on gaging tools.

RESPONSIBILTIES

·         Inspect parts per approved inspection plans, combine and count parts, transact in ERP

·         Create accurate and complete records for inspections and calibrations performed.

·         Calibration

·         Daily interactions with peers on the shop floor and assembly

·         Independent decision to accept/reject parts based on specification not being met

·         Independent decision to prioritize work unless changed by supervisor

·         Notify management of quality issues such as failed 1st articles, failed calibrations, and any issues with parts or measurement tools that could impact the quality and performance of product.

·         Provide guidance to less senior inspectors on the best method for inspecting features of the parts being inspected

·         Train new inspectors

·          Provide guidance to other inspectors on best method/practice for inspecting

·         Work with machinists to establish inspection plans that are appropriate for primary and secondary operations

·          Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

·         Certificate in Quality Inspection

·          5+ years inspection experience in a manafacturing environment

·         Experience using MS Ofiice software (e-mail, Word, Excel)

·         Authority to accept/reject parts and make work priorities unless changed by supervisor

·         Attention to detail

·         Good written and verbal communication

·         Read and understand gages

·         Ability to learn and use software in order to perform job functions utilizing business systems and quality software tools.

·         US Persons (ITAR Regulations)

·         Able to work under FFL (Federal Firearms License) No Felony or Domestic Violence Convictions

  EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma
• 5+years inspection experience in a regulated environment
• GD&T
• Regulated environments:  ISO 9100, 13485, FDA
• Vision Systems, measuring tools
• ERP software
• MS Office
