Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant Direct Hire | Full-Time | St. Louis County, MO 63141 Are you an experienced accounting professional ready to take the next step in your career with a growing organization making a meaningful impact on communities across the country? Our prestigious client is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join their team and play an important role in financial reporting, month-end close, and accounting operations across multiple business units. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys analyzing financial data, solving problems, and contributing to accurate, timely financial reporting in a growing, fast-paced organization. What You'll Do
- Prepare monthly journal entries and support the month-end financial close process.
- Prepare financial statements for multiple subsidiary companies.
- Complete general ledger, bank, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Review, research, and resolve discrepancies in general ledger accounts.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure transactions are properly recorded.
- Support project accounting for construction and capital projects.
- Process customer and vendor ACH payments through online banking systems.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Contribute to special projects and collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
- 5+ years of accounting experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, and financial reporting procedures.
- Experience with general ledger functions and accounting software such as NetSuite.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
- Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to work independently, collaborate with a team, and manage competing deadlines.
