Job Type: Regular Pay Range: $40.47 - $51.65 Hourly Department: Facilities, Fleet & Park Services FLSA Exemption Status: Non-Exempt About the Opportunity The HVAC/R & Plumbing Supervisor oversees the operation, maintenance, and optimization of building automation systems and HVAC/R equipment, ensuring effective control of heating, cooling, and plumbing infrastructure throughout Washington County facilities. This role leads and directs a team of HVAC and plumbing professionals, manages budgets and resources, and handles contract oversight for related services. The supervisor also coordinates and contributes to large-scale capital improvement projects involving the replacement and enhancement of mechanical systems. Ideal Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Proper methods, procedures, tools, and equipment used in heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment as well as plumbing, mechanical, and electrical trades. Principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation. Manipulate DDC systems for large facilities and systems to include: chillers, boilers, hydronic loops, air handlers, fan coils, commissioning, etc. Operate, repair, and maintain a variety of complex electrical/plumbing/mechanical systems and equipment including heating ventilation, and air conditioning systems, air compressors, security alarm systems, switches, lighting systems, security systems, and fire alarm equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams. Use logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions and approaches to problems. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs. Utilize various software and computerized tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook. To review the complete classification, including the full list of knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) associated with this position, use this link: Facilities Operations Supervisor Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience A high school diploma/GED; AND Four (4) years of journey-level experience as an HVAC and/or DDC/BAS technician and which include a minimum of two (2) years lead or supervisory experience. Additional Requirements EPA Section 608 Technician Certification (Universal). Some positions may be required to possess a valid driver's and have an acceptable driving record per Washington County policy. Must pass a WCSO criminal Background check and maintain access to all spaces. May be required to report to work during off-duty hours for emergency situations. About the Department/Division Washington County Facilities, Fleet, & Parks Department is responsible for the maintenance and operation of approximately 38 owned and leased sites encompassing 1.9 million sq ft of commercial type building environments.
