Registered Nurse - NICU

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to neonatal patients in the NICU, ensuring optimal health outcomes for infants under 2 years old requiring critical and intensive support. Adapt to fast-paced, high-acuity environments with a focus on preemies, respiratory management, and complex procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Administer advanced neonatal care, including respiratory support, central line management, and life-saving procedures.
• Monitor and document patient conditions accurately using hospital-specific systems like CPN and Meditech.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for neonatal patients.
• Maintain competency in procedures such as nasal cannula placement, ventilator management, trach care, and PDA ligation.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and mandatory certifications including BLS and NRP.
• Adapt to unit staffing needs through flexible scheduling and floating to related areas such as PICU and Pediatrics.

Qualifications:

• Active license as a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of level III NICU experience.
• Proven proficiency in managing preemies (?28 weeks), ventilated infants, and central lines such as broviacs.
• BLS and NRP certifications are required, with recent clinical experience in neonatal intensive care.
• Demonstrate skills in respiratory management, including intubation and ventilator troubleshooting.
• Ability to work 3-12 hour shifts, rotate weekends and holidays, and float as necessary.
• Comfortable working with complex equipment such as oscillators, IV pumps, and NIRS devices.
