Job Description
The Production Floor Worker supports high-volume manufacturing operations by loading and unloading customer product bins, preparing materials for heat processing, and ensuring accurate handling according to detailed labeling instructions. This is a physically demanding general labor role that requires constant movement, heavy lifting, and strong attention to detail in a hot production environment.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload customer product bins into Rex Heat bins and prepare them for placement into ovens according to established procedures.
- Read and interpret bin labels to confirm part counts, verify that the quantity in each bin matches the label, and ensure parts are returned in the same bins in which they arrived.
- Follow specific loading instructions indicated on labels, including correctly positioning parts that must lie flat or stand on end within the bins.
- Perform continuous physical tasks throughout the shift, including bending, twisting, stooping, and lifting items weighing 50–60 lbs.
- Use an overhead hoist to safely handle larger or heavier pieces when required.
- Maintain high levels of attention to detail to prevent errors in labeling, counting, and product handling.
- Support general manufacturing and assembly activities as directed to keep production flowing efficiently.
- Operate basic production floor equipment and machinery once properly trained.
- Learn and perform testing of processed pieces as training and experience increase.
- Train to operate a forklift safely and effectively in accordance with facility procedures and safety guidelines.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines appropriate for working in a very hot environment with ovens running at all times.
- Work reliably on 3rd shift, maintaining productivity and quality standards throughout the scheduled hours.
Essential Skills
- At least 6 months of labor experience in a physically demanding role.
- At least 6 months of manufacturing experience in a production or industrial setting.
- Proven ability to read and understand written instructions and labels.
- Strong basic mathematical skills to count, verify quantities, and confirm label information.
- Ability to lift 50–60 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Ability to perform continuous bending, twisting, and stooping during the workday.
- High attention to detail when handling customer parts and verifying bin contents.
- Comfort working in a very hot environment with ovens operating continuously.
- No specific education or certifications required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with general labor duties such as loading, unloading, and material handling.
- Experience in assembly or machine operation in a manufacturing environment.
- Interest in learning to operate forklifts and overhead hoists with proper training.
- Willingness to learn how to test processed pieces and support quality-related tasks.
- Reliability and consistency in following detailed instructions and production procedures.
- Strong work ethic and ability to stay focused during repetitive tasks.

Work Environment
This position is based on a production floor with ovens running at all times, resulting in a very hot work environment. The role is on 3rd shift, scheduled from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break. Work is highly physical, involving frequent bending, twisting, stooping, and lifting heavy items throughout the shift. Overhead hoists are available to assist with larger pieces, and you may work around forklifts and other manufacturing equipment. The dress code prohibits shorts at all times, including during interviews. Tank tops or sleeveless shirts are allowed as long as they cover the stomach and do not expose the sides. Employees must follow all safety guidelines appropriate for a hot industrial setting and remain comfortable working in this type of environment.E

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
