About Texas A&M AgriLife Texas A&M AgriLife is comprised of the following Texas A&M University System members: Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Texas A&M AgriLife Research College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory Position Information Job Title : Geospatial Analyst Agency : Texas A&M Agrilife Research Department : Temple Proposed Minimum Salary : Commensurate Job Location : Temple, Texas Job Type : Staff The Geospatial Analyst will conduct research on remote sensing and machine learning to develop models that produce spatial data products required for large-scale agricultural systems modeling. Responsibilities Develop and improve machine learning models for estimating crop biophysical properties using satellite remote sensing datasets. Implement spatial and remote sensing data processing algorithms to produce datasets to integrate and/or assimilate into crop models. Assist with literature review, reports, and publishing research findings in peer‑reviewed journals. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Environmental Science/Engineering, or related field and four years of related experience. Or, Master’s degree in the same fields and two years of related experience. Experience working on spatial data processing using ArcGIS, R, and/or Python. Experience building, training, and deploying machine learning models. Experience working with satellite remote sensing data and data‑mining techniques. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to multi‑task and work cooperatively with others. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a Unix/Linux environment. Expertise in data assimilation techniques.
