Harlem Hospital Center has been a bedrock of the Harlem community since 1887. The hospital provides a wide range of medical, surgical, diagnostic, therapeutic and family support services to the residents of Central Harlem, West Harlem, Washington Heights and Inwood. Harlem is the largest hospital in the area, capable of treating the most seriously ill. Harlem provides over 90 specialized ambulatory care services, dentistry and oral surgery, behavioral health services, and community substance abuse treatment. 9:00 A.M 5:00 P.M No Weekends 35 Hours

Purpose of Position: This class of positions encompasses clerical related office activities utilizing manual and automated office systems; duties may include supervision of employees performing routine tasks appropriate to each Assignment Level. All personnel perform related work. Under supervision, with latitude for independent judgment, performs one or more of the following: Examples of Typical Tasks: 1. Supervises personnel performing data processing functions in the areas of data entry, data control/coding, production control. 2. Under the direction of the unit head, assists in supervising personnel performing responsible clerical and related activities by processing, recording, financial counseling, checking, and maintaining records, furnishing information, and preparing reports.

A high school diploma or its educational equivalent; and Six (6) months of full-time satisfactory clerical experience and/or experience interacting with the public, such as processing sales; taking, processing, and delivering orders; obtaining and dispensing information; listening to and resolving customers concerns, problems, and complaints; and/or performing related customer service activities.
