Previous charge experience preferred.
Patient ratio experience required.
Charting system experience required.


Description:
Will work 3x12-hour rotating shifts.
Ratios are 1:5.
First-timers are accepted.
Weekend requirement is every other weekend and holidays as needed.
Traveler will float within scope to meet facility needs.
Must accommodate block schedule upon manager's approval based on unit's needs.
Local candidates accepted within a 60-mile radius.
Guaranteed hours may have adjustments based on facility needs.
Unit consists of private patient rooms.
Predominant population includes patients admitted for traumatic and orthopedic injuries, general surgery, plastic surgery needing restorative and/or reconstructive procedures, and elective spine surgery patients.
Patients admitted are typically hemodynamically stable, including adults and geriatrics when capacity permits.
The facility is a Level I Trauma Center and a teaching facility.
Total staffed beds available are 820.
Scrubs color for RNs is solid royal blue or white tops with royal blue bottoms.
Daily Census averages 20 patients on the unit.
Unit supports interdisciplinary teams including IV, Physical Therapy, and Social Services among others.
Special procedures include orthopedic repairs and elective spine surgery.
Essential equipment utilized includes NG tubes, chest tubes, and lumbar drains.
Travelers should be aware that all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams, particularly during hurricane season from June through November.
