Clinical Practice Preferred Coordinator

Position: Clinical Practice Preferred Coordinator Location: 5531 South Hulen Street, Fort Worth, TX This is an onsite, full‑time (40 hours/week) position. Employees are expected to be available for any of the 8‑hour shift schedules within normal business hours (8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST). Occasional overtime may be required based on business needs. We offer 2 weeks of paid training. During training, hours are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST from Monday through Friday. Primary Responsibilities Partner with WellMed/USMD physicians to assist patients in completing health screens and preventive care measures that have not yet been completed. Outreach to external physician offices to obtain copies of consult notes and reports for patients who had preventive healthcare screens and clinical measures completed at outside facilities. Update preventive health screens and clinical measures in the EMR that have been determined as completed. Communicate regularly with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate or update patient care. Maintain an accurate tracking log of patients who have been outreached and the status of their preventive health screens and clinical measures. Participate in various quality‑driven initiatives within WellMed/USMD and collaborate to achieve high‑level patient outcomes. Submit data to external agencies as directed by management. Explain the importance of preventive health screens and clinical measures to patients and families. Perform duties at the expert level within the scope of a Medical Assistant’s scope of practice: operate diagnostic equipment, obtain cultures, administer non‑intravenous medication, perform simple specimen collection (noninvasive techniques), collect blood specimens via venipuncture or capillary, and perform EKGs. Perform quality control checks on equipment. Prepare and sterilize medical equipment using an autoclave. Foster accountability for clinical practice and patient goals. Record patient care documentation accurately and timely; identify incorrect documentation and alert clinic leadership; assist other MAs with documentation questions. Coordinate patient care as directed by providers and policy procedures. Respect patient confidentiality at all times and ensure others do the same. Organize exam and treatment rooms, stock and clean rooms, and sterilize instruments; anticipate provider needs before patient encounters; assist when new supplies are needed; enforce medication policy. Create and maintain an environment that supports infection prevention. Conduct telephone and in‑person screening limited to intake and gathering of information without requiring clinical judgment. Rotate between WellMed/USMD clinic locations as needed. Perform all other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma / GED or equivalent years of work experience. Must be 18 years of age or older. Current BLS certification. 3+ years as a certified Medical Assistant, or a combination of 5 years certified and non‑certified MA experience (with at least 2 years certified). Experience with computers and proficiency in an electronic health record system. Experience working with Microsoft Office, especially Excel (view, sort, filter, create spreadsheets, VLOOKUP). Knowledge of medical terminology. Availability to work hours 8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST, Monday – Friday. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish. Soft Skills Ability to mentor others. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations; will assume a leadership role until higher levels of care arrive on scene. Communication and customer service skills. Physical and Work Environment Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to use fine motor skills to operate office equipment. Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing. Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving. Pay and Benefits Hourly pay range: $20.38 – $36.44 per hour for full‑time employment. Comprehensive benefits package.
