The Associate General Counsel, Sales will serve as a key legal advisor to our Sales organization, partnering closely with business leaders to support growth while managing legal and compliance risk. This role will provide practical, business-focused counsel across a broad range of sales and commercial matters.This is a highly visible role for a senior attorney who brings strong commercial judgment, deep experience supporting sales organizations, and the ability to influence outcomes in a fast-paced environment.PositionAssociate General Counsel, SalesLocationUSA, Louisville, KYHow You'll Create PossibilitiesWhat You’ll DoServe as the primary legal partner to the Sales organization on strategic and day-to-day commercial mattersAdvise on customer agreements, sales programs, promotions, channel strategy, rebates, and other go-to-market initiativesDraft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements and non-standard business termsPartner cross-functionally with Sales, Commercial Operations, Finance, Compliance, Marketing, and other stakeholders to enable business objectives while managing legal riskIdentify and mitigate legal, regulatory, and reputational risks related to sales practices and commercial activityDevelop practical guidance, templates, and scalable processes that improve speed, consistency, and risk managementSupport resolution of escalated customer and commercial issuesManage a team of attorneys and paralegalsWhat You'll Bring to Our TeamWhat You’ll Bring / Minimum QualificationsJ.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction12+ years of practiceSignificant legal experience supporting commercial and/or sales organizations, ideally in-houseDeep experience drafting, negotiating, and advising on complex commercial agreementsStrong knowledge of legal issues affecting sales organizations, including emerging markets, channel arrangements, and related commercial riskExcellent business judgment and the ability to provide clear, practical advice in ambiguous or high-pressure situationsStrong communication and stakeholder-management skills, including experience advising senior business leadersHigh standards of ethics, professionalism, and confidentialityPreferred ExperienceExperience supporting a large, matrixed sales organizationBackground in manufacturing, finance, consumer products, retail, distribution, or other commercial environmentsExperience in emerging markets, M&A, and joint venturesExperience building playbooks, templates, and scalable legal processesOur CultureOur work is centered on our People and Culture as reflected in our Zero Distance philosophy and we recognize the importance of reaffirming our commitment to inclusion and diversity (I&D).
