Job Title: Weld Inspector Job Description The role involves performing visual weld inspections on fabricated weldments, machine frames, structural components, I-beams, and assemblies. The inspector will verify weld quality and conformance to applicable drawings, weld procedures, specifications, and customer requirements. Responsibilities Perform visual weld inspections on fabricated weldments, machine frames, structural components, I-beams, and assemblies. Verify weld quality and conformance to applicable drawings, weld procedures, specifications, and customer requirements. Inspect incoming, in-process, and finished components throughout the machine-building process. Inspect both small assemblies and large fabricated machine structures. Perform dimensional inspections to verify tolerances and component conformity. Utilize CMM equipment and PC-DMIS software for dimensional inspection when required. Utilize laser tracker systems to inspect and verify larger machine frames, weldments, and assemblies. Perform or support NDT inspections/testing based on certification and experience. Inspect painted and finished components for quality and conformance to specifications. Inspect electrical assemblies, cables, connectors, and related components for workmanship and specification requirements. Review supplier documentation, inspection records, drawings, and supporting quality documentation. Inspect customer weldments and purchased components prior to integration into larger equipment. Essential Skills Previous experience performing visual weld inspections in a manufacturing, fabrication, structural steel, or machine-building environment. Strong understanding of weldments, welding processes, fabrication, and welded assemblies. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, weld symbols, dimensional tolerances, and specifications. Experience using standard dimensional inspection and measuring equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications NDT experience or certifications preferred. Experience with CMM inspection and PC-DMIS preferred. Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification. Why Work Here? Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
