Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Support Specialist Windows 11 to support critical Windows upgrade and IT asset management initiatives within a complex laboratory environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Windows 11 upgrades, computer imaging, hardware/software troubleshooting, equipment support, and IT asset tracking.

Candidates with experience supporting IT systems in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, laboratory, healthcare, or other regulated environments are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Support Windows upgrade and IT asset management projects.

Perform hands-on Windows 11 upgrades, installations, configurations, and computer imaging.

Troubleshoot Windows operating system, hardware, software, workstation, and peripheral issues.

Install, replace, upgrade, and configure IT equipment and related hardware.

Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve hardware, software, and equipment issues.

Provide technical support for computers, peripherals, laboratory systems, and related equipment.

Maintain accurate asset records, inventory information, and equipment documentation.

Use IT service management and tracking tools such as ServiceNow and Jira.

Document troubleshooting activities, resolutions, equipment changes, and system updates.

Support advanced laboratory instruments and technical systems where required.

Work closely with laboratory personnel and other technical teams in a fast-paced environment.

Follow established laboratory, safety, security, and operational procedures.

Handle or support activities involving hazardous waste in accordance with applicable regulations when required.

Follow PPE, respiratory protection, medical clearance, and laboratory safety requirements.

Required Qualifications

Hands-on experience supporting Windows 11 - mandatory.

Experience with Windows upgrade projects, including workstation upgrades and computer imaging.

Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows hardware and software environments.

Experience installing, replacing, upgrading, or configuring IT equipment.

Experience with IT asset tracking and documentation.

Familiarity with ServiceNow, Jira, or similar IT service management tools.

Ability to work effectively in a laboratory or other controlled environment.

Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work onsite and support users/equipment across multiple laboratory areas.

High School Diploma/GED or Bachelor's degree preferred, but relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Preferred Qualifications

Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, laboratory, or other regulated-industry experience.

Experience supporting laboratory instruments or advanced technical equipment.

Experience with asset management systems and inventory control.

Experience working with vendors and third-party technical support teams.

Knowledge of ITIL/service management processes.

Experience supporting Windows migration or enterprise desktop refresh initiatives.

Working Environment

Fully onsite in Cambridge, MA 02142.

Work may be performed in laboratory and controlled environments.

PPE such as lab coats and safety glasses may be required.

May require medical clearance, respiratory protection training, and fit testing.

Must be able to move between laboratories, corridors, adjoining rooms, and buildings.

Position requires frequent bending, squatting, stretching, reaching, and operating tools or equipment.

Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs, with potential occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.

May involve exposure to laboratory hazards, including biological materials, chemicals, and extreme temperatures.

May be required to handle hazardous waste in accordance with applicable regulations.
