Key Responsibilities
- Provide emergency nursing care in a free-standing ED environment, fulfilling both RN and respiratory therapy/pharmacy support roles in the absence of on-site RT and pharmacy staff
- Perform and assist with advanced procedures including Procedure Sedation, Rapid Sequence Intubation (RSI), cardioversion/defibrillation, and breathing treatments
- Manage vascular access devices including Port-A-Cath, PICC lines, Triple Lumen Catheters, and Rapid Infusers
- Provide care for a patient population that includes approximately 15% pediatric patients
- Manage drains, syringe pumps, and feeding tubes as required by patient acuity
- Deliver tracheostomy care as needed within a 24-bed emergency department setting
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license; compact license accepted
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
- Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Demonstrated experience with tracheostomy care, cardioversion/defibrillation, and breathing treatments
- Proficiency with PICC lines, feeding tube management, Port-A-Cath/vascular device access, and rapid infusers
- Ability to fulfill expanded clinical responsibilities including respiratory therapy and pharmacy support functions in a free-standing ED
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience strongly preferred
- Experience working in a free-standing or independent emergency department setting
- Familiarity with pediatric emergency care
