Facilities & Operations Associate

 

The Opportunity:

The Facilities/Operations Associate is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and well-organized facilities while also supporting day-to-day operational tasks that keep programs running efficiently. This role combines hands-on custodial work with light operational and logistical support, making it a great fit for someone who's reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable wearing multiple hats.

Organization Overview: 

Skilled US provides adult education and workforce development opportunities through GED preparation, English Language Learning (ELL), Adult Education, Advanced Manufacturing training, and YouthBuild & Construction programs. Our Franklin Road campus serves as both a primary instructional site and our corporate headquarters, where all administrative and operational functions are managed.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilities & Custodial

• Perform routine cleaning of classrooms, labs, restrooms, offices, and common areas (sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, restocking supplies)
• Conduct minor maintenance and repairs (e.g., replacing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, addressing minor plumbing issues) or coordinate with vendors for larger repairs
• Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning and facility supplies
• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards (OSHA, local health codes)
• Set up and break down rooms for classes, events, or trainings

Operations Support

• Assist with receiving, organizing, and distributing shipments and materials (e.g., training equipment, tools, supplies for CTE programs)
• Support opening/closing procedures for the facility
• Help coordinate logistics for events, orientations, or site visits
• Track and report facility or equipment issues to the front office staff
• Assist with basic administrative tasks as needed (e.g., maintaining logs, checklists, or inventory records)

Minimum Qualifications:
Education & Work Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1-3 years of prior experience in facilities management 
• Basic mechanical/maintenance aptitude a plus 
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Bilingual (English/Spanish/Haitian Creole) strongly preferred
