JOB STATEMENT: The Senior Database Engineer is a hands-on technical role responsible for the architecture, development, administration, security, performance, and reliability of the company’s Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database environments. The role also designs and develops enterprise data warehouse and integration solutions supporting ERP, reporting, analytics, and other business-critical applications.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES:

Database Engineering & Development

• Own the administration, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle environments.
• Design, develop, and optimize complex T-SQL and PL/SQL, including stored procedures, functions, views, packages, triggers, and database jobs.
• Review database code and architecture for performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Establish standards for database design, development, deployment, and change management.

Performance & Reliability

• Perform advanced database and query tuning using execution plans, wait statistics, indexing, statistics, query profiling, and workload analysis.
• Diagnose CPU, memory, I/O, locking, blocking, deadlocks, TempDB, transaction log, storage, and concurrency issues.
• Monitor database health, performance, availability, and capacity and proactively identify potential issues.
• Design database configurations for performance, scalability, high availability, and growth.

Data Warehouse & Integration

• Architect, design, and develop enterprise data warehouses, data marts, staging environments, and dimensional models.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines integrating ERP, operational, financial, and other enterprise data sources.
• Design fact tables, dimensions, star schemas, historical data structures, and aggregation strategies.
• Develop data validation, reconciliation, error handling, and data-quality controls.
• Optimize data models and database structures supporting BI, reporting, analytics, and data visualization platforms.

Security, Backup & Recovery

• Own database backup, recovery, disaster recovery, retention, and restore-testing procedures.
• Manage database users, roles, permissions, service accounts, encryption, auditing, and least privilege access.
• Support database vulnerability remediation, patching, upgrades, and security reviews.
• Maintain database recovery procedures and participate in business continuity and disaster recovery testing.
• ERP & Enterprise Systems
• Support database and integration requirements for enterprise ERP and business applications.
• Understand complex ERP schemas and develop efficient extraction and integration strategies.
• Support ERP implementations, upgrades, migrations, data conversions, integrations, and troubleshooting.
• Partner with application, infrastructure, security, and business teams to resolve complex data and system issues

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• 7+ years of experience in database engineering, development, administration, or data warehousing.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.
• Advanced SQL, T-SQL, and PL/SQL development and performance-tuning skills.
• Strong experience with stored procedures, functions, views, packages, execution plans, indexing, and query optimization.
• Experience designing and building enterprise data warehouses, dimensional models, and ETL/ELT solutions.
• Strong knowledge of database architecture, security, backup/recovery, disaster recovery, monitoring, and capacity planning.
• Experience working with large transactional databases and high-volume data environments
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause-analysis skills.

PREFERRED EXPERINCE:

• ERP platforms such as IFS, SAP, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, JD Edwards, Epicor, or similar enterprise systems.
• Data integration technologies including SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Talend, or similar tools.
• BI, reporting, analytics, and data visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, Cognos, or similar technologies.
• Cloud data platforms including Snowflake, Azure, AWS, or similar technologies.
• Scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies.
• Manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, or consumer products environments.
• Integration of AI services, APIs, and AI-enabled capabilities into enterprise applications.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Sit for extended period of time 
• Perform tasks using standard computer equipment
• Lift up to 50 lbs.

• Limited noise level
• Indoor climate

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

• Side shield safety glasses, safety vest, head/ear protection and proper footwear when in production facility.
