Senior Cost Accountant Maclean Power Systems is seeking a talented Senior Cost Accountant. In this role, the Cost Accountant serves as a cross-functional liaison for internal reporting, KPI development, and profitability projections. This role will be primarily responsible for maintaining accurate product costing through variance analyses, managing discretionary spend to budget, and overseeing inventory control. This role is based in our facility located in Stockton, CA . What You’ll Do Develop accurate cost standards Perform cost audits and variance analyses Provide timely updates on key performance indicators Assist the operations team with ad-hoc analyses Complete month-end close responsibilities as necessary Ensure accurate inventory quantities and valuation Maintain effective cost structure - proper classifications, timely recognition, & controlled spending Partner with IT in developing reporting capabilities Foster a spirit of continuous improvement Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.) Follow all Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures Perform other duties as assigned What You’ll Need to Excel in This Role A bachelor's degree in accounting or a relevant discipline At least 4 years of cost accounting experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment Oracle JD Edwards or similar ERP familiarity MS Excel proficiency – charting/graphing, pivot tables, v-lookups, and logic formulas Critical reasoning, solution-based thinking, and research skills Ability to complete complex tasks with minimal supervision Excellent verbal and written communication skills MPS offers a dynamic work environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and professional growth.
