As a Security Officer Part Time Overnight Unarmed Patrol in San Diego, CA , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $22.70 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and members of the public at a government building by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, hazards, or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor, employee, and contractor activity; verify authorized entry in accordance with site procedures and help maintain an orderly environment.
• Prepare accurate reports, maintain activity logs, and communicate observations, incidents, and concerns to Allied Universal leadership and designated site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
