Structural Design Engineer (Associate and Experienced )

Position Summary Structural Design Engineer – Associate (Level 2) or Experienced (Level 3) within the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Air Vehicle Engineering team. Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The role is fully on‑site and requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance. Position Responsibilities Level 2 Assist in developing, integrating, and documenting structural and interior payload system requirements to establish system design. Develop, maintain, and modify basic structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3‑D CAD tools and other methods to provide product definition to engineering, production, suppliers, and customers throughout the product lifecycle. Perform tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Assist with supplier development, test, and production activities and coordinate with suppliers to optimize design and achieve program goals. Support investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs. Participate in technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection. Document processes, specifications, and procedures that support the design and manufacture of structural commodities. Assess and resolve product/process issues throughout the product lifecycle. Support cross‑functional teams in root cause analysis and development of dispositions for complex design non‑conformances. Work under general supervision. Level 3 Develop, integrate, and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish system design. Integrate analytical and test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Manage supplier development, test, and production activities and coordinate with suppliers to optimize design and achieve program goals. Develop new design/analysis processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of the development effort. Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs meeting projected requirements. Participate in technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection. Document processes, specifications, and procedures supporting the design and manufacture of structural commodities. Assess and resolve product/process issues throughout the product lifecycle. Direct cross‑functional teams in root cause analysis and development of dispositions for complex design non‑conformances. Work under general direction. Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical, or Materials Sciences). 2+ years of experience in mechanical and/or structural design. 2+ years of experience creating, executing, reviewing, and managing structural design models. 2+ years of experience in conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design, including 2‑D drawings and 3‑D deliverables. 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications. 2+ years of experience with CAD/CAM software (CATIA V5, SolidWorks, Siemens NX). Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of related work experience or equivalent education and experience. Active U.S. Secret Clearance. Experience validating or verifying structural models. Strong written, verbal communications, and presentation skills. Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures, secondary structures, and interior payloads. UPR/MRB experience in commercial derivative platforms. Analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Additional Information Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – fully on‑site.
