Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our Health Impact leadership team in the role of Director-Chief of Staff, Healthy Communities.
The Director-Chief of Staff, Healthy Communities serves as leader and trusted advisor to the Chief Health Impact Officer (CHIO). The Chief of Staff takes initiative to work for, support, and deliver results on behalf of the CHIO and their leadership team. This leader facilitates and expedites decision-making and execution, while working to proactively identify issues that could impact successful execution of the CHIO's priorities. This director manages internal and external advisory boards and other standing committee interactions (HEPIC), and represents the CHIO where/when needed. The Chief of Staff interfaces with system leaders and front-line team members in quality and safety, clinical effectiveness, IIS, patient experience, government affairs, IUSM, marketing and communications, and the IU Health Foundation to execute organizational Healthy Communities strategy. This leader aligns Healthy Communities' operational priorities with research priorities and acts a liaison to system functions such as marketing, legal, contracts management, finance, and oversees communication strategy (e.g. annual report, website updates, linked in presence). This director is responsible for the operating rhythm of the organization including monthly business reviews, budgeting, models for financial sustainability, grant funding and overall team engagement.
The Chief of Staff will also have responsibility and oversight for our Anchor Institution Strategy. They will oversee the administering the Community Impact Investment fund, a large community-facing grants portfolio awarded on a annual basis to community based organizations across the state that support health related social needs as identified through regional community health needs assessments aligned with the Health Communities strategic priorities. Additionally, this leader may support key elements of administration for the Indy Health District, currently the nation's largest-scale redevelopment effort of its type, intended to advance the longevity and wellness of our neighbors and neighborhoods surrounding the new Adult Academic Health Center.

Candidate Qualifications
Candidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.
Bachelor's Degree is required. Master's Degree is preferred.
Requires 8+ years of relevant experience.
Requires 4 years of people leader experience.
Extensive work experience in complex, matrix organizations health impact experience.
Requires knowledge and experience in health impact, and/or business extensive work experience in complex, matrix organizations.
Experience and acumen utilizing data and analytics to assess and drive program and financial performance required.
Grants management experience preferred.
