Manager of Communications and Public Relations - Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation

This position will play a key role in shaping and executing national and regional communications and public relations strategies for the Dunkin' Joy in Childhood Foundation. Reporting to and collaborating closely with the Director, this role will oversee the development, management, and distribution of communications to enhance the Foundation’s mission. The Manager will work cross‑functionally with Foundation staff, board members, Dunkin’ marketing, PR, partnership teams, volunteers, and agencies to ensure consistent and effective communication to both internal and external audiences. The role requires strong project management skills, drafting, editing, curating content, and identifying innovative ways to share the Foundation's impactful stories. Responsibilities Communications: In partnership with the team, lead the creation of all internal and external communications including the Foundation’s annual report, quarterly newsletters, Board and employee communications. Help establish national and local communications strategies with the Director and national PR agency. Support communications strategies for national in‑restaurant fundraising activities and campaigns. Manage the Foundation website, create pages, design layouts, and update content. Develop social media content plan and oversee a social media contractor. Support in‑restaurant campaigns, drafting comprehensive communications plans for Dunkin’ Iced Coffee Day, BARK partnership, and the annual month‑long icon program. Assist with internal readiness materials and external communications. Lead video development and speaking program development for fundraising events. Refine communication methods with regional field marketing teams and PR agencies. Public Relations: Support the Foundation’s national PR strategy by collaborating with Dunkin’ PR and coordinating with the Foundation’s PR agency to increase awareness. Liaise with local PR agencies to plan events and celebrations. Create turnkey PR toolkits for local PR agency execution of marketing programs, fundraisers, signature program events, and grant celebrations. Develop and lead creative communications strategies for national signature programs and regional grant programs. Content Management: Collaborate on quarterly Board meeting and Annual Meeting presentations. Assist in briefing and development of Foundation marketing programs, including in‑store and out‑of‑store assets. Develop opportunities for integration of the Foundation into the brand marketing calendar. Work with Dunkin’ brand marketing team on launch and promotion of major national marketing partnerships and regional fundraising activations. Work with the analytics team to develop strategic plans that align with Dunkin’s goals and Foundation mission. Oversee social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) including strategy and calendar development. Qualifications 4‑Year Degree Preferred. 5+ years of relevant experience, strongly preferred. Experience developing internal and external communications strategies, preferably in the non‑profit sector. Original writing samples required. Self‑starter with ability to set priorities, multi‑task, and remain focused in a fast‑paced environment. Exemplary interpersonal, active listening, creative writing, transcribing, and facilitation skills. Ability to navigate and manage complex communication and public relations matters. Solid project management skills with ability to stay on track while handling multiple simultaneous projects. Proven track record of successfully introducing and implementing communication programs for external or internal audiences. Working knowledge of social media best practices and ability to set a social media strategy/calendar and pivot as needed. Ability to navigate ambiguity, resolve conflicts, and remain open to constructive feedback for continuous improvement. Collaboration and strong relationship management, time management, and organizational skills. Ability to recognize escalating trends and problem‑solve potential root causes.
