As a Security Officer Residential Shelter in Jamaica, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential Sheters. As an unarmed Security Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide compassionate customer service to residents, visitors, and staff. You will communicate clearly, respond professionally to concerns, and support a welcoming environment. Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry, maintain visitor and resident log documentation, and report unauthorized access or unusual activity according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency services when needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including common spaces, entrances, exits, and perimeter areas, to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and patrol documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
