C-130 Aircraft Assembler Senior Specialist

Description Performs a variety of operations to manufacture, assemble and/or refurbish various complex aircraft parts and structures. Assemblies can require controlled tooling as well as build‑to‑print. Tasks include aligning parts on tooling using both templates and fixtures. Must also be able to drill close‑tolerance holes. Performs part‑fitting operations such as minor filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, drilling, reaming, riveting, countersinking, and cold working. Measures parts with a variety of methods to verify dimensions. May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes and perform repairs. Works from blueprint diagrams, drawings, specifications, and shop orders. Monitors and verifies quality and develops corrective action. Performs corrosion inspection and repair per engineering requirements. Basic Qualifications 5 years or more of demonstrated hands‑on experience in aviation, manufacturing, and/or assembly. Proficient at blueprints and interpreting specifications and/or technical publications. Ability to use basic hand tools (drills, torque wrench and inspection tools), as well as perform, install specialty fasteners, conduct complex rework/repairs, and use precision instruments. Ability to locate holes from blueprints by hand layout, required tooling, and/or technology‑based platforms. High School diploma, or equivalent experience/combined education. Desired Skills 1 year experience leading, training, and/or mentoring other level employees. Ability to use large and complex assembly tooling effectively. Experience using a variety of fasteners and hardware like Solid Rivets, blind rivets, Hi LOCs, etc. 6+ years of hands‑on experience on C‑130 aircraft as a structures mechanic, USAF 7‑Level Aircraft Structural Mechanic, or equivalent.
