About the Position

Job Title: Neurodiagnostic Tech II Profession: Neurodiagnostic Technician Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3rd B Week 7/70 Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a Neurodiagnostic Technician preferred License: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) required within 90 days of hire Certifications: Registered by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) preferred Must-Have: - Proven ability to perform Electroencephalography - Strong skills in neurodiagnostic procedures - Ability to document patient history effectively - Proficient in electrode application using the International 10-20 System Description: Under limited supervision, prepares patients for routine Electroencephalography (EEG), Electromyography (EMG), long-term and intraoperative monitoring, evoked potentials, nerve conduction velocities, autonomic testing, and other neurodiagnostic studies. Accurately measures and applies electrodes as per laboratory standards. Ensures electrode impedances meet required specifications. Documents comprehensive patient history by gathering information from patients, their records, and family members. Explains test procedures to patients and family members. Recognizes medical contraindications of activation procedures. Performs neurodiagnostic procedures according to laboratory standards. Prepares testing supplies and equipment following laboratory guidelines. Implements alternative methods or adjusts controls to obtain optimal recordings. Follows standards of care to maintain quality EEG recordings. Begins training in EMG, EVP, autonomics, intraoperative monitoring, WADA, and PET. Triages software error messages and equipment malfunctions related to patient care. Assists in scheduling patients and entering documentation and charges in a timely manner. Reviews and clips files as per laboratory standards.
