About the Position

Job Title: Neurodiagnostic Tech II Profession: Neurodiagnostic Technology Specialty: Neurophysiology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 2nd Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years preferred License: Basic Life Support required within 90 days of hire Certifications: Preferred certification in at least one relevant area Must-Have: Proven ability to perform Electroencephalography Description: Under the limited supervision of the Neurodiagnostic Tech Educator or delegated team member, prepares patients for a combination of routine Electroencephalography (EEG), Electromyography (EMG), long-term and intraoperative monitoring, evoked potentials, nerve conduction velocities, autonomic testing, neurointerventional procedures, and Positron Emission Tomography (PET). Performs diagnostic and investigative studies in the laboratory, at the bedside, and in critical care units for patients of all ages. Additional duties may include charge capture and scheduling patients. Accurately measures and applies electrodes in a timely manner according to the International 10-20 System. Ensures that electrode impedances meet laboratory standards. Documents a comprehensive patient history by gathering appropriate information from the patient, their record, and family members. Explains test procedures to patients and family members present, recognizing medical contraindications for activation procedures. Performs neurodiagnostic procedures according to laboratory standards under limited supervision. Prepares testing supplies, exam room, and neurodiagnostic equipment according to laboratory standards. Implements alternative methods or adjusts controls to obtain optimal recording under supervision. Follows necessary standards of care related to collaborative communication with the team and maintaining quality EEG recordings. Observes and begins training in EMG, EVP, autonomics, intraoperative monitoring, WADA, and PET under limited supervision. Triages software error messages, equipment malfunctions, and other technical issues affecting patient care. Assists Tech I and accurately enters documentation and charges. Assists front desk with scheduling and checking in patients. Reviews and clips files according to laboratory standards.
