Trailer Logistics Driver & Shop Fabrication Hand

Job Description

Picture your day split between the open road and hands-on shop work. In the morning, you’re behind the wheel of a pickup towing a 20-foot open trailer, shuttling parts between our Ypsilanti facility and local vendors. After the route, you’re on the floor contributing to fabrication—cutting, finishing, and helping keep production moving.

What a typical day looks like

Spend about 3–4 hours driving a pickup with a 20' open trailer to pick up and deliver components to vendor locations.
Devote another 3–4 hours to shop fabrication support—using saws and grinders to cut materials to length and finish edges per drawings.
Complete basic and preventive maintenance on shop equipment to keep everything running smoothly.
Unload steel and reposition materials using overhead cranes and forklifts; keep aisles and work cells tidy and safe.

What you bring

At least 1 year of experience hauling with a truck and trailer (not box trucks).
Ability to interpret blueprints and measure/cut materials accurately in a shop environment.
1+ year operating forklifts and overhead cranes.
Solid knowledge of shop safety and material handling best practices.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Role details

Pay: $18 – $23 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
